Konik ponies originate from Poland where the name Konik means primitive horse. They are not native to the UK but they live wild on several nature reserves in Britain. They are often provided with some food to sustain them through the year.
Konik ponies are small but sturdy animals that live in a herd and look great running free and can be seen at Lopham Fen on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
